the sacred space

About a year ago, we got ahold of Amber Brooks‘ album, Still I Rise.
In true Kincaid family fashion, we listened to it over & over for weeks on end. Our kids were probably singing her tunes in their sleep. One day, Avery asked us to play the song “with the lion in it.” Chris was humbled and excited. He thought Avery was talking about one of his own songs that references a lion, a lullaby he wrote for the boys. It’s called, “Sacred Heart” and you can listen to it here
Once the song finished playing, however, Avery politely informed us that it was not the song he wanted to hear. He was referring to one of Amber’s songs. We laughed out loud & obliged him. After all, what better way to teach our kids about God’s pursuit of man than through song? And especially during this season, I’m crying out for Him to show up again & again, like He’s promised. He is faithful, and though I am pretty much terrified about the next few weeks…I know He’s got it on lock-down.

Happy Sunday!

John 14:27 says “Peace I leave you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Jesus is the author of your life, and of your girls’ lives too. He loves you and will provide everything you need. And all of us are praying and believing that for you too!

I found your blog through blog-mama-button-clicking.. and I like it. :) Been following your journey some, and I just wanted to encourage you to keep doing what you’re doing! Hold tight and don’t lose heart, you’re really strong and wherever you’re weak and need help God is able to fill in the gaps. And he will! You’re doing great.

Just thinking about this very thing at church this morning. God will be with you (and me!) through these deliveries – just like he did before.

We had a three part sermon this morning…the third part was “rest in the Lord.” Basically, let go and give it over. What an amazing thing!!!

You have so many prayers surrounding you…I hope that His peace grabs hold of you this week with a FIRM GRIP!

Thank you so much for this. It is soooo hard to find new worship music that is meaningful and original, and this is amazing.
